Daimler Truck, known for its Mercedes-Benz trucks, will bring all its current hydrogen and fuel cell development activities into the newly formed joint venture. The Volvo Group, not to be confused with the Volvo Car Corporation, will buy in for 600 million euros and thus acquire a share of 50 percent.

Serial production of hydrogen trucks has already started at Hyundai. The first copies are now running in Switzerland. Scania, part of the Volkswagen Group, put four test trucks into service in Norway earlier this year.
