Emirates Airlines announced yesterday that it will provide the first regular daily service with the Airbus A380 to Istanbul, starting from October 1.
The A380 aircraft, which will be operated by Emirates Airlines on the Istanbul route, will provide 517 seats, in three classes: 14 private suites in First Class, 76 seats that convert into a fully flat bed in Business Class and 427 comfortable seats in Economy Class, which will increase the capacity for each flight by more than 150 seats compared to the currently operating Boeing 777-300ER.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates Chief Commercial Officer, said: “We are excited to have Istanbul join the list of other major cities we currently serve with our A380 aircraft. Since it began serving Turkey 34 years ago, Emirates has flown more than 6 million customers on more than 23,000 flights. The A380 service to Turkey is an important development for our operations in that country.”
