The Egyptian Minister of Higher Education, Acting Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, announced that Corona deaths in the country had fallen by half, according to the result of constantly updating treatment protocols.
He said, “If we want to say that whoever is infected with “Omicron” will not be infected with corona again, it must be based on documented scientific evidence… The number of corona infections present in homes is higher than those in hospitals.”
He explained that “only 10% of beds in hospitals are occupied, 43% of intensive care units are occupied, and only 27% of ventilators are occupied, and this confirms that we are safe.”
He continued, “The pharmaceutical market now contains 3 new drugs to treat corona, including a drug that is used orally and obtained the approval of the American Medicines and Food Authority, as well as the European Medicines Authority approved it, and this drug can control the reproduction of the virus inside the cell.”
He stressed that “the medicine that is taken orally should be given to the patient in the first 5 days after the diagnosis of the condition, and it can be taken at home.”
He added: “This drug is produced by Pfizer and Egypt is one of the first countries to contract with it, and in the coming weeks we will receive enough for 20,000 people. We also contracted for the Merck drug that will be manufactured in Egypt, as well as with AstraZeneca to Her new medicine, and we will get 50,000 doses from him.”
