After a first inspection tour on the ground yesterday, Saturday January 9, 2021, the wali of Casablanca-Settat, did it again this Sunday, by going to the disaster areas of the Casablanca metropolis.
During this visit, Saïd Ahmidouch was accompanied by Abdallah Al-Wardi, prefect of police of Casablanca, Omar Filal, governor in charge of general affairs at the prefecture of Casablanca, and Jean-Pascal Darriet, director general of Lydec.
The Wali was notably informed of the drainage and water evacuation works in the “Paloma” area, near Mohammedia, carried out by Lydec’s field teams, in order to open the road to cars.
Lydec agents also provided explanations of the urgent measures put in place to limit the impact of torrential rains on homes, especially those located in vulnerable areas.
This visit follows an emergency meeting held last Friday at the headquarters of the wilaya of the Casablanca-Settat region, devoted to examining the impact of the heavy rainfall experienced by the metropolis and its suburbs, as well as early and future steps to take to prevent their effects from recurring.
