Hind Al Soulia - Riyadh - KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait on Monday recorded 1935 new COVID-19 cases, the highest daily count since the start of the pandemic, and six deaths.
Officials from the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) said the total number of cases since the pandemic began had reached 256,732, while the death toll rose to 751.
Some 2,990 people had recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours. The total number of recoveries is 228,364.
According to the ministry’s spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, there are currently 15,315 active cases in the country out of which 160 are receiving treatment in intensive care units. A total of 12,669 swab tests were conducted over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of COVID-19 examinations in the country to 2.71 million, Al-Sanad said. The spokesman urged citizens and expatriates alike that abiding by health precautions, mainly, following social distancing rules, is the only way to halt the spread of the virus. — SG
