I wrote – Manal El-Gioshy:

Today, actress Hend Sabry begins her duties as a member of the jury for feature films at the Red Sea Festival in Jeddah in its first session.

The jury will be chaired by the Italian international director Giuseppe Tornatorio

Hind had won the Best Actress award at the Francophone Film Awards for her role in the Tunisian film “Nora’s Dream” in Rwanda, where this year’s edition is being held.

It was handed over to Stefan Tillmann, the Belgian co-producer of the film

Hind sent the award management a video message in French, in which it stated that she apologized for not being able to attend the event and receive the award herself, but it is linked to traveling to Jeddah to participate as a jury member of the feature film competition in the first session of the Red Sea Festival, and she is happy with this award because it includes a large number of stars in French-speaking countries. Or the one that received support from Francophone countries, and it is a great honor and honor to receive an international award of this value among all these stars.

This award is one of the major acting awards in the world and is equivalent to the American Academy Award for French-speaking countries. Any French-speaking or Francophone production around the world would compete for it.

These awards began to be awarded in 2013 in Dakar, in 2014 they were distributed in Paris, in 2015 they were distributed in Abidjan, in 2016 in Beirut, in 2017 they were distributed in Yaounde, in 2018 in Saint Louis, in 2019 they could not be held due to the Corona pandemic, and in 2020 in Kigali.

Hind had previously won the Faten Hamama Award for Excellence from the Cairo International Film Festival.

And for the film itself, she won the Best Actress award from the Carthage Film Festival and the Best Actress from the El Gouna Film Festival.

And many other awards throughout its history, and she is the first Arab woman to win this award.

Hind expressed her happiness and pride in this coronation and that it is a continuation of the awards journey that she won for this role.

Hind is soon awaiting the presentation of her series “Search for Ola” on the Netflix platform soon, starring: Sawsan Badr, Hani Adel, and they will be joined by Nada Moussa, Mahmoud El-Leithi and Dalia Shawky.
