The Board of Directors of the Saudi Export Development Authority held – via video conference – today, its 23rd meeting, headed by His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Export Development Authority, Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency valued the efforts and competencies of the Authority’s employees; To achieve the ambitions of the wise leadership and contribute to raising the percentage of non-oil exports from 16% to at least 50% of the non-oil GDP, in line with the Kingdom’s 2030 vision.
The meeting reviewed the most prominent achievements of the Authority’s work during the last period, and the growth achieved in the performance figures of non-oil exports in the first half of 2021 compared to the same period in 2020, in addition to the Authority’s institutional transformation strategy, which includes developing the organizational structure and new goals and visions that contribute to Improving the quality of services provided to exporters and developing the work system during the next phase.
During the meeting, the council discussed the developments of a number of existing projects and services such as international tenders and representative offices of Saudi companies in Iraq, the market studies project and export opportunities, in addition to the most prominent achievements of the “Made in Saudi Arabia” program since its launch in March 2021.
The Board also took a number of decisions and recommendations according to the topics on the agenda, the most important of which is the adoption of the institutional transformation strategy, the approval of the new organizational structure, in addition to the formation of a committee emanating from the Board of Directors headed by His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Eng. The department is concerned with empowering exporters and developing non-oil exports by improving and maximizing the experience of Saudi exporters at various levels.
