A campaign against Elissa after she republished a tweet calling for...

The pioneers of social networking sites in Lebanon launched a campaign against the artist, Elissa, after she republished a tweet calling for the expulsion of a Lebanese citizen from Saudi Arabia.

And Elissa re-published a tweet of a Lebanese citizen, publishing a picture of a citizen who said that “his name is Joseph Nabil Lahoud from the Oqaiba region, Keserwan district, who must be expelled from Saudi Arabia for leading an electronic army to insult Saudi Arabia.”

The tweeters monitored Elissa republishing the tweet and considered it a “disgrace to the homeland” as it helps “incitement against a Lebanese resident in the Kingdom.”

And last month, Elissa published a series of tweets in which she held Information Minister George Kordahi responsible for the recent developments triggered by his stances on Saudi Arabia and the UAE regarding Yemen.

Elissa said: “George Qardahi… you have the responsibility of a country, who are behind statements that do not represent Lebanon’s policy, or step, or affiliation. Do you love Assad and the Houthis? Go to Aden and leave Lebanon as you are, your government and your axis.”
