It looks like Carmelo Anthony could build muscle to get back to the Knicks.

In a video and pictures his New York-based trainer Chris Brickley posted on social media Thursday, Anthony, 36, is seen draining 3 pointers at Summit Gym in Midtown. In one photo he is shown shirtless and polished.

After Portland, Anthony’s team, became a surprising playoff participant with an increase in the “Seedings Games” last season, the Trail Blazers were eliminated 3-1 in the first round against eventual champion Lakers.

To end his comeback from exile, Anthony became a major third goalscorer for the Blazers, which along with CJ McCollum were spearheaded by Damian Lillard’s spectacular game.

When the Blazers were eliminated on Aug. 29, the Brooklyn native sounded a lot like wanting to sign with Portland again.

“I pray it could be Portland,” Anthony said on Zoom. “To be honest, thank God I found a home in Portland. I got used to the organization. I felt comfortable with the guys on the team. You felt comfortable with me. ”

However, if point guard Chris Paul gets to the Knicks via a trade, sources have said Anthony is likely to want to follow suit. Anthony and Paul are close friends who dreamed of playing together in the NBA and saw their alliance in Houston end prematurely.

Both players were represented by Knicks President Leon Rose when he was basketball director for the Creative Artists Agency. A source said Rose is open to Anthony’s return even without Paul.

If Julius Randle is part of a Paul deal, the Knicks need a little start and a power forward. Anthony plays every position.

The Blazers want Anthony back, especially after a wild back and forth between Nuggets and Blazers Twitter accounts on Friday.

The Nuggets tweeted five former players asking, “Who’s your favorite nugget of all time?” Anthony wasn’t one of the five pictured despite his career in Denver.

Soon after, the Blazers posted an identical tweet featuring a frame of five former Portland stars – with Anthony alongside Lillard, Brandon Roy, Clyde Drexler and Bill Walton. The photo contained the exact same message: “Who’s your favorite blazer of all time?”

Anthony’s chiseled look is noteworthy as one of the reasons for him during his career was that he never looked in great shape and relied on his tremendous 1-on-1 ability. Hence, the Boy Scouts believed that he had never made a full effort to defend himself.

The pandemic, which caused a four-month hiatus in the season, gave Anthony time to do more extrajudicial training with closed basketball gyms. Anthony won’t be 37 years old until May – that would be the last phases of the next season.

During the shutdown, Anthony, a kink from 2011 to 2017, was still working with Brickley on virtual training. Now you can train personally again.
