Today, Thursday, the Diamond League announced a provisional schedule for the 2022 season, starting in Doha in May and ending in September, and competitions will return to China for the first time since the beginning of the “Covid-19” pandemic.

The Diamond League begins in Qatar on May 13 and ends in Zurich on September 7 and 8, while China will host the competition twice in July and August.

Competitions at two events in China this year have been canceled due to strict travel restrictions amid the pandemic.

Rabat, Morocco, will host a meeting on the fifth of June.

“Athletes will compete for points in 13 matches from May to September, and the most successful will qualify for the two-day final of the season in Zurich for a chance to win,” organizers said in a statement.

“The schedule remains subject to changes in accordance with the global health situation in 2022, and organizers continue to prioritize the safety of athletes and fans when running high-quality competitions,” the statement added.
