HMD Global announced the release of the Nokia G300, the company’s least expensive 5G smartphone to date, for $199.
The fingerprint scanner is one of the most useful features of the Nokia G300, as it is integrated with the power button so that you can unlock your phone inconspicuously while pressing the same button to wake it up, and you can also use your face to unlock the device.
The device contains a large battery with a capacity of 4,470 mAh, which Nokia claims to last for about two days before needing charging, and the battery is charged via an 18W fast charger that comes inside the box.
It also mixes some old and new technologies like a 3.5mm audio jack for wired headphones, radio antenna, NFC, and runs Android 11.
The G300 features a 16-megapixel rear camera with a relatively large f/1.8 lens slot, a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 5-megapixel ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 lens slot, and there is an 8-megapixel front camera that deals with selfies and video calls.
This phone can record 1080p videos at 60 frames per second using Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) to help reduce the natural shaking of your hand.
The device has a 6.52-inch LCD screen with a very low resolution for its size of 720 x 1600 pixels, with an aspect ratio of 20:9.
Like the OnePlus Nord N200 5G, it comes with 64GB of internal storage, which means you need a microSD card to expand this phone’s storage.
The G300 is also powered by the same 5G-compatible Snapdragon 480 processor as the OnePlus Nord N200 5G, and is backed by 4GB of RAM.
While the Nokia G300 is 5G-ready but only deals with the sub-6Hz standard, you can pre-order the $199 Nokia G300 on the same day the new Pixel 6 phones are announced.
This phone with 64 GB storage and 4 GB RAM will be available for purchase directly on October 19, 2021.
