A vigilant female customs officer foiled a Brazilian woman’s attempt to smuggle 3.3kg of cocaine into Dubai International Airport.

The 22-year-old drug-smuggler, holding a visit visa, was immediately arrested.

The case records revealed that the visitor had arrived to Dubai Airport’s terminal 3, and her luggage was scanned just like every other traveller.

The female customs officer noticed that the bag contained a suspicious package that needed to be investigated.

The customs officer testified saying, “I asked the defendant to show her passport, and requested her to undergo a body search.”

No illegals were detected through the body search, but however, the officer discovered the smuggled drugs after searching the visitor’s luggage manually.

3.3kg of cocaine were found wrapped in 2 black plastic rolls that were carefully hidden inside the defendant’s bag.

Airport police transferred the case to the Anti-narcotics Department in order to legally charge and punish the defendant.

The case was taken to the Dubai Public prosecution, and the defendant was referred to criminal court.
