A 52-year-old European manager was trialed by the Dubai Public Prosecution for demanding a Dhs530,000 bribe from his Dubai company in order to perform work tasks.

The court files reveal that the defendant had asked for the bribe in order to facilitate work deals between two companies owned by Arabs and Chinese.

The company’s financial manager had discovered that the defendant was also stealing goods from the company’s factory for a long period of time.

A police complaint was immediately filed by the victim company, aiming that an investigation would be carried out to put the defendant behind bars for his crimes.

It was also discovered that the defendant was illegally selling machines from the company’s factory on a monthly basis.

Apparently, the defendant had asked for bribes of Dhs500,000 and Dhs30,000 from both Chinese and Arab companies.

The police investigated the incident and placed the defendant under arrest to be legally punished for his crime.
